I'm back!

Wow, it has been a long time since I last posted! Life as a stay at home mom has kept me really busy! We are all doing great! :) I had a few rough weeks of adjustment, but about the end of the third week I really started to feel like I have the hang of being a stay at home mom. I love my new job and caring for sweet precious Jack. We are just so in love with our son! He is the sweetest best baby ever!

Let's see... I'll try to fill you in on what's been going on.

John went out of town to Denver for work for three nights and four days, leaving me alone with Baby Jack. I was really nervous about this, but we did great! He had one night where he was extremely fussy, but thank goodness John and Belinda (my in-laws) were here to help console him. I really had a great time bonding with Jack during this time, although I was definitely ecstatic for John to return home! I think being thrown in to doing everything alone really is what helped me adjust. I can't imagine what life is like for single moms though!

Jack is starting to smile and is SO much more alert. It's really a lot more fun to play with him now. Yesterday he even "held" his own big boy rattle :) He's sleeping about 6.5 hours a night consecutively... from about 9:30- 3:30 ish, then again until 6:30, then typically until 10:30... after that he's very awake for the rest of the day. Although 9:30-3:30am is not exactly the specific hours we want him to sleep, we are THRILLED to be getting 6+ hours of sleep! Although we usually don't go to bed at 9:30... it's still nice and has helped us keep our sanity throughout this time!

Jack had his one month check up several weeks ago and weighed in at 8.1 lbs and 21.75 inches. He's really growing, and I know he's even bigger than that now! Several weeks ago he officially outgrew all of his baby newborn outfits that were so huge on him when he was born. And yes, I have to admit, I cried when this happened. Of course I am thrilled that he is growing, but I just can't believe how fast! I also know that will be a sentence I continue to say for the rest of his life and mine...

We took him on his first road trip to Knoxville- he did great! We made it from our house all the way to Strawberry Plains before he woke up to eat and have his diaper changed! He also made it through having his first house guest. Jessica and Michael are finally back from Egypt and came to visit us this week. We had a wonderful time hanging out and catching up. They are looking for jobs in Charlotte so please keep your fingers crossed that this works out!

I am getting used to taking Jack out in public more. I still get nervous if he starts to get fussy, but most of the time he sleeps. Each time it seems a little easier though!

I had my 6 week post partum check up yesterday. Everything is good and I'm in the clear! Now I'm going to get back on the exercise program, UGH! I only have 10 lbs left to lose to get to my pre preg weight, but I want to lose more than that!

Please stay tuned and keep reading, I promise I will stay on top of posting! Also, we will continue to post pictures on our shutterfly site... we have a lot of new ones we need to post!
