Updates

Jack is growing so fast! John took last week off work and we had so much fun just hanging out enjoying each other and Jack. This week he is back at work... which means Jack, Sophie and I are home alone. I was a little nervous of this at first. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do everything on my own. I have realized that although it is nearly impossible to keep the house clean, make dinner, do laundry, etc, all while getting enough sleep AND taking care of a newborn, that I am, in fact, more than capable of taking care of Jack alone :)

Today I decided to be brave. I took Jack-alone- to South Park Mall (about 25 minutes away). He was awesome! Granted, I did wait until he was asleep to load him in the car seat for the drive. He's still so young that most of his time awake is spent eating or crying, so it was a must that he had to be asleep. Although our trip was short, he did great! It was also great for me to start realizing I can take him places with me.

Other exciting things... my best friend Jessica and her husband, Michael, are finally returning back to the United States this Friday! I am SO excited about this! Jessica has been in Egypt for the past several years- it will be such a treat to have her here!

John's birthday is Saturday :) Not exactly sure what we're doing to celebrate. Probably something pretty low key! I do know that I will be making a strawberry cake, but that's about it.

I will post more pictures as soon as I get a chance- on here and on shutterfly. My time has been so limited- when Jack is awake he requires my full attention! It's been hard to find time to check e mails, return phone calls, mail thank you notes, etc.
